We are partners!

History of our project - how it began

In 2005 Mrs. Isabelle Roussel from Collioure, France and others developped the concept of our project. Some school from Greece and some other school from Bulgaria didn't get permission to take part. Before the project started, Mrs. Roussel unfortunately had to cancel her participation as coordinator for private reasons. Her school dropped out as well. Mr. Dan Grigoras from Falticeni, Romania decided to take on the challenge to be the new coordinator of our project.

These were the five partner schools left:

Şcoala Nr. 6 „Ioan Ciurea“,
F
ălticeni,  Suceava, Romania - Mr. Dan Grigoras

École primaire "Raphaël Jolivière",
Pointe-à-Pitre,
Guadeloupe, France - Mrs. Brigitte Jean-Charles

Scuola Primaria di Appiano Gentile "G. Marconi"
Appiano Gentile, Como,
Lombardy, Italy - Mrs. Arcangela Palazzo

Ysgol Gymraeg Melin Gruffydd,Whitchurch,
Cardiff,
Wales, Great Britain - Mrs. Bethan Griffiths

Montessori-Schule Peißenberg,
Peißenberg, Bavaria, Germany - Mr. Bernhard Apel

At first there was a problem to be solved: As it hadn't been obvious to all partners that French was intended to be project language we found our way to translate much of the meetings' contents into English and French, though we agreed on publishing children's products and materials in English. Challenging was as well the wide range of age: Involved in the project were students from grade 1 to grade 8.

Our Reunions:

There were eight reunions to plan our work, exchange products and to foster our bonds:

November 2006: Fălticeni, Romania
February 2007: Cardiff, Wales
May 2007: Peissenberg, Germany
January 2008: Point-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe
May 2008: Appiano Gentile, Italy
October 2008: Peissenberg, Germany
June 2009: Fălticeni, Romania

Moreover, a group of students from Falticeni came to visit Peissenberg together with their two teachers in November 2008.
